Help us renew preaching to renew the Church.

In a recent study, over 85% of parishioners believed that homily is extremely or very important to their faith. It matters to their Catholic faith life, their engagement in the Mass and their participation in their parish. Their rating for those homilies, though, was a “C+.” This “just-so-so” preaching makes an impact on decision making – a parishioner asks, should I attend Mass regularly or return to church? Should I invite someone to Mass – “what will he or she get when they get there?”

The Institute for Homiletics was founded based on these insights. We are dedicated to renewing Catholic preaching. Our mission is to bring the people of God into an encounter with the living God through effective and memorable homilies.
